About

At First Sight is designed for pianists who want fresh sight-reading exercises without running out of material or memorizing familiar pieces.

Instead of static music files or random note generators, the app uses a music engine that builds coherent two-handed exercises based on real harmonic progressions, rhythm patterns, and accompaniment styles. Exercises are engraved directly into clean music notation across your phone, tablet, and watch.

FAQ

How do I restore my purchase or subscription?

If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, open At First Sight, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. This checks your Apple ID or Google Play account and unlocks your access without charging you again.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by your device's app store:

On iPhone/iPad: Open the iOS Settings app → tap your Name / Apple ID → tap Subscriptions → select At First Sight.

On Android: Open the Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon at top right → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

How does the exercise generation work?

The generator builds exercises algorithmically using musical voice-leading rules, standard chord progressions (tonic, predominant, dominant cadences), and realistic accompaniment textures (like broken chords and Alberti bass). The goal is to produce exercises that feel like actual repertoire rather than mechanical drills.

What does the Apple Watch app do?

The watch app is a quick companion for practicing note identification on treble and bass clefs when you're away from the piano.

Can I suggest a feature or new curriculum topic?

Definitely. Feedback from pianists and teachers helps shape future updates. Email your suggestions to colbycabrera.wd@gmail.com.
